Established in the early 1900s by a German Duke as a coffee plantation, founders James Gibb and his wife, Margaret bought the farm after World War II and established our farm in the 1970s, the oldest guesthouse in northern Tanzania.

This historic organic farm and family coffee plantation covers over 80 acres on the forested outer slopes of the Ngorongoro Crater. Share in the eternal sense of history and community with two-family houses and seventeen cottages.

Gnu Migration Camps, are Luxury mobile tented camps with 8 en-suite tented rooms including a family rooms, 8m long by 4m wide, each tent is equipped with comfortable king-size or twin beds and featuring en suite facilities such as shower, hand-wash basin and a flush toilet. The campsite is fully lit by solar power, makes it the most Eco-friendly possible giving you the most comfortable nights in the Serengeti.

GNU Migration Camps moves three times a year following 2.5 million wildebeests and zebras migration as it travels across the Serengeti to get close proximity to the wildlife herds and great migration.

Witness the early morning mist rise on the banks of Lake Masek.

From the private terrace of your tent you can observe the wildlife of the area. Many animals visit the lake in search of water and therefore this camp is in a privileged observation point.

Besides, this area is the principle setting of the Great Migration which takes place from December to April and the Big Five visit the area. The camp is set-up every year in a different part of the area, to make sure that you will always have the best place to see this impressive spectacle from your own tent.

In addition, the camp is ecological without losing in comfort and attention. The electricity is generated by solar panels and the water is rain water collected during the rains. All the products used are biodegradables.
